In late June/early July, it seems a number of my grown-up English students went gallivanting around Japan and brought me back edible souvenirs. One went to visit family up in Morioka in Miyagi, and it turns out Palpaw is a local business up that way. Hence, she brought these Gotto biscuits back for me and… oh my. They are lovely. They’re spongy layers of biscuit bordered and held in place by not-over-sweet icing that is sprinkled with things like almond flakes. They look pretty, they taste delicious, and if you ever get the chance, they’re well worth a try!
