Furuta Black Chocolate Sequoia

From what I’ve observed, Furuta isn’t one of the especially massive confectionery companies in these parts, but they’re still very widespread with plenty of products in plenty of places. One of their ubiquitous sweets is the Sequoia chocolate bar, a small bar of chocolate-covered wafer that retails for about 30 yen each (excluding tax); Daiso, CanDo and other discount shops also often have deals where you can get four for 100 yen. I actually really like them, the chocolate being thicker than you might expect and their value for money being pretty decent, and I found this “Black Chocolate” variety as enjoyable as expected. The chocolate used is bitter, and the wafers inside are cocoa flavoured rather than plain/vanilla, making it a surprisingly rich, tasty treat given the price.
